Hendersons introduce Gugs Cottage, a fisherman’s cottage nestled within the coastal village of Staithes. Just steps to the beach, the cottage stands out from the crowd having a large garden - which certainly is a rare commodity in the lower area of the village.
The accommodation is over three floors, to the ground floor there is an open plan lounge/kitchen with a log burning stove, wooden ceiling beams and shaker style kitchen units. Up the stairs to the first floor there is a twin bedroom and house bathroom that comprises a bath, w.c and hand basin. The second bedroom is located on the second floor and is generously sized double bedroom with built in storage eaves.
Externally the rear garden has a paved seating area as well as pretty terraces with flower beds and is enclosed by stone walls and iron railings. There is also a useful brick built storage shed.
Within a short walk there is a wealth of local amenities such as, public houses, bistro and galleries. The cottage is situated at the bottom of steps that give much easier access on foot to the upper area of the village when compared to the main bank.
Staithes is a picturesque harbour village within the North York Moors National Park to the North of Whitby. This now tourist destination was formerly one of the many fishing centres in England making Staithes full of character and charm with its many period properties and local pubs, inviting many a tourist with their unique ambience.
